Rana Novini is a graduate of American University with a double major in Broadcast Journalism and Vocal Performance. Throughout her four years in Washington D.C., she worked as a contributor for District Wire News, on a D.C. councilman’s reelection campaign, and as a media intern for Celebrity Service International. Possessing strong enthusiasm for investigative journalism, she initiated an investigative project on the effect of toxic fumes from burn pits in Iraq on U.S. soldiers. Rana is pursuing a career in television news as a multimedia journalist. She is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder and hopes to eventually become a meteorologist. Rana is also honored to be Miss Broomfield 2011, a part of the Miss Colorado Organization. As Miss Broomfield, she volunteers her time towards her two platforms: Fighting Hunger in America and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
